From July 30 to August 8, the investigation mission of the program “UN-Spain MDG Achievement Fund-China Culture and Development Partnership Framework” went to Guizhou Province and Yunnan Province for the first time of observation. Members of the mission are Mr. Wang Shan, Secretary-general of China Arts & Crafts Association, Ms. Chen Jing, Deputy Secretary-general of China Arts & Crafts Association, Ms. Sun Yueqi, Officer of International Affairs Office, China Arts & Crafts Association, Ms. Li Jiangping, National Program Officer of UNESCO Office Beijing, Joseph Lo (Singapore), expert in International Arts & Crafts.

From July 30 to August 4, in the company of Mr. Zhang Jiansheng, President of Guizhou Arts & Crafts Association and Ms. Li Jing, Secretary-general of Guizhou Arts & Crafts Association, the mission first arrived at Leishan County and Congjiang County in Guizhou Province. They visited “the silversmith village” Kongbai, Qianhu Village of the Miao ethnic group, “the last village of gunners” Biasha and village of Dong ethnic group at Gaozeng. The mission also talked to the local government and experts about the situation of handicrafts of local ethnic groups.

From August 5 to August 8, the mission went to Yunnan Province. Under the coordination of Yunnan Arts & Crafts Association, the meeting themed by this program was held in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province. Later, in the company of Mr. Yan Zhongquan, Secretary-general of Yunnan Arts & Crafts Association, the mission visited the two test points, Longchuan County and Luxi City, respectively getting to know the situation of brocade of Jingpo ethnic group, silver jewelry, Husa knives of Achang ethnic group and cucurbit flute. During the visit, local officers introduced basic information to the mission.

This visit was supported by related departments of Guizhou Province and Yunnan Province. Mr. Xie Qingsheng, Vice-governor of Guizhou Province met the mission in Guiyang and exchanged opinions with members of the mission. After this visit, China Arts & Crafts Association will make plan for the next-step training at Leishan County and Longchuan County.
