2009 China Arts & Crafts Senior Training Class
During May 14th to May 18th, 2009, entrusted by Ministry of Culture, China Arts & Crafts Association successfully held the 2009 China Arts & Crafts Senior Training Class at Beijing Institute of Socialism.
There were 165 trainees from 21 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Tibetan, Uyghur and Manchu artists from Qinghai and Xingjiang.
The training contained 46 periods in 5 days including courses like appreciative remarks on China’s modern folk ceramics, rhythm of beauty, artistic spirit of Chinese culture and etc.
Ten prestigious teachers from famous universities and cultural circles were invited to give lessons during the training. They were Professor Yuan Yunfu of Fine Art College of Tsinghua University, Professor Yang Yongshan of Fine Art College of Tsinghua University, Wang Lianhai of Fine Art College of Tsinghua University, Professor Lou Yulie of Peking University, Professor Yang Xianrang of Central Academy of Art, Professor Zhou Haihong of Central Conservatory of Music, researcher Hu Desheng of the Palace Museum, President Chen Ailian of Chinese Dancers Association, Guest Professor Zhao Axing of Tsinghua University and sculptor Huang Jian of Qingshang Arts & Crafts Group. Although these teachers were from different fields, they all had passion for art. They gave lectures about artistic theories and knowledge in a straightforward way by which the trainees were inspired.
The trainees indicated that this training class helped them broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge and widen their creative thoughts, and they were proud of what they carried on.
China Arts & Crafts Association will organize other training classed according to the needs of artists, in order to create a platform for communication, improve holistic skills of Chinese arts and crafts and to promote the development of Chinese arts and crafts.
