Bo Xilai Pays Attention to Traditional Arts&Crafts
Bo Xilai, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the CPC, has always been paying attention to the protection and development of non-material cultural heritage and traditional arts and crafts. On April 8th, during his survey-and-study trip in Rongchang County, Bo Xilai visited Chongchang Non-material Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall, appreciating traditional arts and crafts products, such as Rongchang folding fan, Chongchang grass cloth, Heshi San Yuan Violin and etc. Chen Zifu and He Xirui, masters of Chinese arts and crafts, introduced to Mr. Bo about manufacturing technique of grass cloth, fans and handicraft pictures made by grass cloth, and Heshi San Yuan Violn. Bo Xilai said that it was difficult to make these traditional arts and crafts so that they should be well protected and promoted. Besides, Bo Xilai also gave affirmation and admiration to the work that Chongchang County had done in protection and development of traditional arts and crafts.
Staff and cadres in crafts industry of Chongqing Municipal City were inspired by Bo Xilai’s care and attention to traditional arts and crafts. It was believed that with care of leaders at all levels and joint efforts by all of us, arts and crafts business of Chongqing Municipal City will develop forward better and faster.
